COOPERATIVE INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITS   

The Association of University Presses (AUPresses) offers exhibiting opportunities, often in partnership with international book trade fairs.    

FILUNI   
AUPresses hosted a collective exhibit space for members at the 2025 Feria International del Libro Universitario (FILUNI), which took place on August 26-31, in Mexico City.   

Five presses—University of Arizona Press; IMF Publications (International Monetary Fund); Johns Hopkins University Press; Project MUSE; and Temple University Press—participated in this AUPresses cooperative stand by sending titles, catalogs, and promotional materials to be displayed in the booth. Three presses—University of Hawaii Press, Russell Sage Foundation, and Ohio State University Press—made their digital content available for purchase in the first-ever AUPresses Digital Bookstore at FILUNI. The store was created in collaboration with AUPresses Partner publica.la

AUPresses has offered discounted exhibit space for members at the fair, which is organized by the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) through its press, since the fair’s inaugural edition in 2017. FILUNI planned and set up the space, while AUPresses staff coordinated the outreach, display set up, and billing for the collective.

FILUNI is the first international university press book fair hosted in Latin America, drawing university press publishers from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the UK, USA, Spain, Peru, and Mexico.

Charleston Conference   
AUPresses hosted a collective space at the 2025 Charleston Conference Vendor Showcase, which took place on November 4, in Charleston, SC.    

The four participating presses were Bristol University Press, Edinburgh University Press, Liverpool University Press, and Manchester University Press. 

AUPresses procured the space, produced signage, and coordinated logistics with exhibiting presses.

Charleston Conference Asia 
AUPresses launched a collective space in the Vendor Showcase at the inaugural Charleston Conference Asia, which took place on January 26-28, in Bangkok, Thailand.  

Participating member presses were Edinburgh University Press, University of Hawaii Press, Hong Kong University Press, National Academies Press, NUS Press, and Princeton University Press. 
 
AUPresses Community Development and Communications Manager Kate Kolendo managed organized the collective and managed the space on site, including representing those exhibiting members without staff in attendance. Executive Director Peter Berkery attended the Conference, and also had the opportunity to represent AUPresses at an inaugural gathering of university presses from Africa and Southeast Asia.

ABA Winter Institute 
For the very first time, AUPresses hosted a space at the Meet the Presses Showcase at the American Booksellers Association Winter Institute, which took place on February 23-26, in Pittsburgh, PA. 
 
University of Arizona Press, Cambridge University Press, Fordham University Press, and West Virginia University Press participated in this new cooperative opportunity. 
 
The Association offered one- and two-day exhibit packages in the Showcase space. Collective participants received signage with their logo, and inclusion in a digital packet and in our digital booth. AUPresses Community Development and Communications Manager Kate Kolendo organized the collective, and attended the Showcase, managing the space throughout the event and representing those exhibiting members without staff in attendance.

London Book Fair   
The Association continued its long-time partnership with Reed Exhibitions to offer discounted exhibit space within an AUPresses-branded pavilion at the 2026 London Book Fair, held March 10-12, at Olympia London.    

The AUPresses stand was fully booked with Bristol University Press, City University of Hong Kong Press, Duke University Press, IMF Publications, Indiana University Press, Johns Hopkins University Press, Liverpool University Press, Longleaf Services, Michigan State University Press, National Academies Press, University of Georgia Press, University Press of Kentucky, and University of Texas Press sharing the cooperative space.   

Reed offered the exhibiting packages and planned the space. AUPresses handled reservations and billing for booth participants. AUPresses Community Development and Communications Manager Kate Kolendo was present for organizational support during the fair.

UKSG   
AUPresses hosted a collective stand at the UKSG Annual Conference 2026, which took place on March 30-April 1, in Glasgow, UK.   
   
AUPresses Executive Director Peter Berkery and Community Development and Communications Manager Kate Kolendo attended and shared exhibit space with six member presses and their representatives: Jen Howard, Bristol University Press; Ian Morgan and Teri Williams, Edinburgh University Press; Ellen Appleton and Kirsten Poole, Liverpool University Press; Kate Horton, Manchester University Press; and Lisa Quinn, McGill-Queen’s University Press. 

AUPresses acquired and managed the space, produced signage, and coordinated logistics with exhibiting presses.

MEMBER DISCOUNT PROGRAMS   

NetGalley   
Members are eligible for a discounted subscription to the NetGalley digital galley service. NetGalley offers the real-time transmission of digital galleys and multimedia press kits. Publishers can also allow readers to request a printed galley. NetGalley’s registered readers include librarians, booksellers, bloggers, reviewers, and instructors; and NetGalley services are available in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, France, Germany, and Japan. AUPresses members may request online demonstrations of the service.   

Publisher Alley   
Association members have access to the Publisher Alley sales analysis tool at discounted rates. Publisher Alley is an online database of inventory and sales information offered through GOBI Library Solutions from EBSCO.   

Cooperative Advertising Program 

The Association continues its Cooperative Advertising Program; offering discounted advertising rates in 9 publications to AUPresses members. In May, June, October, November 2025 and April 2026, member presses participated in cooperative advertising spreads that appeared in The Nation. In April 2026, AUPresses facilitated a UP-centric page spread in the Library Journal. In addition to offering advertising space, Library Journal published editorial interviews with representatives from member presses. AUPresses also partnered with The Believer, Catalyst, Harper’s Magazine, Issues in Science and Technology, Jacobin, SST Media, and Tricycle to offer discounted advertisements to AUPresses members.
