Committees of the Board

Admissions & Standards

The Admissions and Standards Committee has welcomed three new members so far this year: National Taiwan University Press (Regular), Sharjah University Press (Introductory) and Maine University Press (Introductory). An application from the American Numismatic Society for Affiliate membership is currently under review, and two more applications for Regular membership are imminent. It has been encouraging to see international applications continuing, demonstrating the heightened visibility and value of AUPresses to the global UP community.

Committee members continue to liaise with Introductory members and while engagement varies from press to press, this continues to be a worthwhile exercise which, in one case, has seen an Introductory member progress to apply for Regular membership. The committee will focus its work on Introductory members whose original term of 5 years is nearing completion in the next year or two.

Work on a Best Practices document to guide the committee has got underway, with fruitful initial discussions on the scope, structure and content. Work on this will continue for the remainder of the current committee’s term.

Audit

The final audit for FY25 has been completed as of February 2026, in line with the triennial audit schedule that was approved last year. It can be found in the Audit Commons Group, along with the “Audit History and Timeline” document, which future committee members may find helpful.

Nominating

The Nominating Committee solicited and evaluated nominations from the membership for candidates for the 2026-27 Board of Directors in late 2025 and early 2026. The committee drew from a robust number of nominees raised by the formal call for nominations this year and last.

The committee’s slate of nominees, including a President-Elect, Treasurer-Elect, and one Directors-at-Large, was approved by the current Board at their March 2026 meeting and will be presented for ratification by AUPresses members at the May 21, 2026 Annual Business Meeting.
